Leslie K. Wilson, 59, former resident of Herington, died Thursday evening, January 8th, 2015, at his home near Elmo. He was born at Tyler, Texas, on Tuesday, May 10, 1955, the son of William Leonard and Joyce Carman (Kuykendall) Wilson.
Memorial Service was held at 10:30 am Saturday, January 17th, 2015, at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Herington Chapel, with Pastor Bill Peterson officiating; with visitation following.
Mr. Wilson was a machine operator for Alco Distribution Center in Abilene. He previous worked as janitor for the Herington School System (USD487), and prior to working at the school he worked at Boeing in Wichita. He served in Vietnam with the U.S.Army.
He is survived by a son Dylan Wilson of Herington, a foster son Emmanuel “E-MAN” Torres of Janesville, Wisc., a brother Leonard “Chris” Wilson of Gilmer, TX, and a sister Kitty Belle Pool (husband-Chuck) of Flint, TX.
Preceded in death by his parents.
