OBITUARY FOR – Larrie Jane Fisher, 67
Larrie Jane Fisher, 67, of Herington, died Saturday, January 10th, 2015, at the Mercy Regional Health Center, Manhattan. She was born on Monday, March 24th, 1947, at Tallahassee, FL, the daughter of Herman and Mary Lois (Walker) Burke.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, January 13th, 2015, at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Darrell Geist, officiating. Burial at the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Herington. The family will receive friends from 6:30pm until 8pm Monday, at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Herington Chapel; and during that time Mrs. Fisher will lie in state.
Mrs. Fisher was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Herington. She also assisted with many jobs around Herington; Chamber of Commerce, Hilltop Community Center, Tri-County Fair, and the Historical Society just to name a few.
She married Lloyd Eugene Fisher on August 24, 1972 , at Charleston, SC; and he preceded in death on July 12, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her father, and her mother: Mary Burke died March 11, 2012.
Survived by a son Lloyd Robinson of Elk Grove, CA; three (3) daughters: Denina Robinson of Birmingham, AL, Adelina Best of Columbus, GA, & Eugenia Mefford (husband-Kurk) of Herington; and three (3) brothers: Joey Burke, Nathan Burke, & Tommy Burke all of Florida. Also survived by eight (8) grandchildren: Hunter & Dakota Robinson, Eugenia N. & Darren Best, Terry & Daniel Edwards, Kaylyn & Jasper Mefford; and 4 great-grandchildren (Daniel Edwards, Jr., Mariska Edwards, Ellie Edwards, & Jayden Best).
The family requests memorials, to First Baptist Church of Herington; and they may be sent in care of the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home & Crematory, Herington Chapel, 404 S. Broadway, Herington, KS 67449-3038.
