Obituary for – Tommy D. Strickbine, 68
Tommy D. Strickbine, 68, of Herington, died Monday, December 23rd, 2013, at the Herington Municipal Hospital. He was born Monday, September 17, 1945, at Herington, the son of Alex and Artie (Young) Strickbine.
An inurnment service is being planned for a later date in the spring of 2014, at the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Herington. The Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home & Crematory, Herington Chapel is assisting the family with services.
Mr. Strickbine retired from General Motors Assembly Plant in Kansas City, and moved back to Herington. He loved to hunt and fish, and was an avid Kansas City Chief’s Fan.
He married Sharon Ann Bell on October 18, 1991, a Eureka Springs, Arkansas; and she survives of the home. He is also survived by two (2) sons: Aaron Strickbine (wife-Keri) of north Kansas City, KS, and Jason Strickbine (wife-Shelli) of Polo, MO; three (3) step-sons: Larry Tomlinson & Richard Tomlinson both of Olathe, and Curtis Hairser of Leavenworth; two (2) step-daughters: Terry Tomlinson of Atlanta, GA, and Lori Tomlinson of Grandview, MO; five (5) grandchildren; 19 step-grandchildren; and three (3) step-great grandchildren. He is also survived by two (2) brothers: Norman Strickbine of Thayer, MO, and Steve Strickbine of Oklahoma; and a sister Lila Hofshulte of Kirbyville, MO.
He is preceded in death by six (6) brothers (Noel “Spike”, Marvin, Elmond “Stringy”, Dennis “Peanuts”, Jerry, and Gordon), and a sister (Sandra).
