OBITUARY FOR – Robert Burl Bevan, 87
Robert Burl Bevan, 87, Lifelong resident of Lost Springs, died Wednesday, July 3rd, 2013, at the Herington Municipal Hospital. He was born January 24, 1926, Lost Springs, the son of Burl Franklin and Inez Myrtle (McMillen) Bevan.
He was postmaster for 38years at Lost Springs, until he retired on March 31, 1989. He was a member of the American Legion, Lost Springs; and a member of the Hebron Lutheran Church, Burdick. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Corporal during World War II; in the Pacific Theater of Action on British Solomon Islands, and the Manus, Admiralty Islands.
He was married to Betty Anne Wheat on July 28, 1963, at Alexander, KS, she survives of the home; and his daughter Pamela Sue Bevan of Hutchinson, his son Todd Allen Bevan (wife-Jessica Rose) of Bend, Oregon, and his granddaughter Anna Rose Bevan. He is also survived by three (3) sisters: Ardis Belle Sutton (husband-Darrel) of Salina, and Mary Ann Walter and Alma Elaine Wyatt both of Hillsboro.
He is preceded in death by his brother Ray Franklin Bevan (11/25/1982), and his parents.
