Obituary for – Ellsworth Edgar Brown, 94 “Brownie”
Ellsworth Edgar Brown “Brownie”, 94, died Saturday morning, June 15th, 2013, at the Medicalodges of Herington. He was born October 3, 1918, at Linn, Kansas, the son of Owen and Nellie Jane (Colgrove) Brown.
Mr. Brown worked for Safeway and later for A&P Grocery when he retired. He was a golf marshal in the Kansas City area for many years, because he enjoyed the game of golf. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, in the Asiatic & Pacific theaters’ of action.
His first wife Ruth (Stansberry) Brown died on July 2, 1976; and his second wife LuEtta (Johnston) Brown died on December 27, 2011. He is also preceded in death by a son William Richard Brown, a daughter Karen Lynn Martin, and two (2) sisters: Marietta Zimmerman & Juanita Woods.
He is survived by his daughter Susan Dibbin (husband-Craig) of Junction City, a sister Marguerite Bunting of Tucson, AZ, four (4) grandchildren, two (2) step-grandchildren, five (5) great-grandchildren, and five (5) step-great-grandchildren.
