Richard "Ricky" Serrato
1948 - 2012

Ricky Serrato, 64, of Chanute passed away Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute.

Ricky was born in Chanute, KS on September 1, 1948, the son of Alfred and Ruth (Abaloz) Serrato.

He loved watching the Oakland Raiders, baseball, and playing slow pitch softball.

Ricky is survived by his father, Alfred Serrato of Chanute, KS; four siblings, Billy Joe Gutierrez, Gloria Ysusi, and Rita DeLaTorre all of Chanute, KS, and John Serrato and wife Patricia of Independence, MO; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother; one sister, Connie DeLaGarza; one nephew, Michael Ysusi; and two nieces, D’anna Ysusi and Cindy Plancarte.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. on Friday, November 31, 2012 at the church.
The family will receive friends on Friday after the rosary from 6:30 until 8 p.m. at the St. Patrick Parish Hall.

Memorials in his name may be made to St. Patrick Church’s Women’s Auxiliary and may be left with the funeral home.

Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
