Obituary for – Glenna Faye Combs, 81
Faye Combs, 81, of Herington, died Monday, September 17th, 2012, at the Herington Municipal Hospital. She was born December 19, 1930, at Mountain Grove, MO, the daughter of William S and Nina E (Haleburton) Blacksher.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 21st, 2012, at the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Herington. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 20th, 2012, from 6pm until 8pm at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Herington Chapel. Rev. Gary Schrader & Bryan Alezander, officiating; and serving as casketbearers are the grandchildren (Joshua Alexander, Kayland Alexander, Trevor Alexander, Dylan Combs, Tyson Combs, Sierra (Wiegert) Hopson, Tanner Wiegert).
Mrs. Combs was a LPN and a homemaker. She worked in Kansas City area as an LPN for many years.
She married Raymond (Meatball) Combs, on June 20, 1955, in Miami, Oklahoma; he preceded her in death on June 17, 2010. She is also preceded in death by a brother Glenn Blacksher, a sister Jerry Caudle, and her parents.
She is survived by a son Craig Combs (wife-Stephanie) of Salina; two (2) daughters: Pam Alexander (husband-Bryan) of Herington and Tracey Combs of Salina; a brother Jay Blacksher of Excelsior Springs, MO; and five (5) sisters: Zela Hicks of Kansas City, MO, Roberta Fletcher of Memphis, TN, Virginia Robertson of Mountain Grove, MO, and Sharry Smith of Odessa, MO. She is also survived by seven (7) grandchildren (Joshua , Trevor, & Kayland Alexander; Tyson & Dylan Combs; Sierra Hopson; and Tanner Wiegert), and three (3) great grandchildren (Bradley, Koryn, & Atalie Alexander).
Memorials have been requested , in lieu of flowers, to the Herington Hospital Foundation or the Dickinson County Hospice; and may be sent in care of the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Herington Chapel, 404 South Broadway, Herington, Kansas, 67449-3038.
