Gloria L. Gaither, 81, of Herington, former longtime resident of Manhattan, died Saturday, February 28th, 2015, at the Mercy Regional Health Center, Manhattan. She was born Saturday, July 22nd, 1933, at Topeka, the daughter of Merle and Margaret L (Acord) Brown.
A Private Family Memorial Service is being planned by the family. The Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home & Crematory, Herington Chapel, is assisting Mrs. Gaither’s family with cremation plans.
Mrs. Gaither was a homemaker and a Certified Nurses Assistance. She worked in various nursing care facilities in Manhattan. She lived in Manhattan from 1990, until recently moving to be with her daughter in Herington. She graduated from Topeka High School with the class of 1951.
Survived by a son Merle Allen Gaither of Lawton, OK; five (5) daughters: Melody Partlow of Herington, Lisa Ried of Manhattan, Kathy Gray of Hiawatha, Deborah Webster of White Cloud, Mich., & Judy Loveday of Durango, CO; 22 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and three (3) great-great grandchildren.
