Harry H. Lawrenz, 98, of Herington, died Monday, August 11th, 2014, at the Herington Hospital. He was born Monday, March 27, 1916, on a farm north of Herington, the son of Karl and Olga (Ohm) Lawrenz.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, August 16th, 2014, at the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, with Rev Troy Slater officiating. Burial will precede the memorial service at the Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Lawrenz was a lifelong farmer and rancher. He was a member of the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Herington.

Married Emma A. Huth on December 19, 1943, at the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, she survives of the home. He is survived by three (3) sons: Leland Lawrenz (wife-Mary) of White City, and twins - Ronald Lawrenz (wife-Deb) of Lawrence and Donald Lawrenz (wife-LaDonna) of Clearwater; two (2) daughters: Lois Scott (husband-Mark) of Colorado Springs, CO, and Sheila Fief (husband-Larry) of Salina; two (2) sisters: Bernice Diekmann, and Rosetta Schlesener both of Herington; eleven (11) grandchildren; and twelve (12) great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three (3) brothers: Elmer Lawrenz, Leroy "Bud" Lawrenz, and an infant brother Charles.

A memorials to the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church or the Herington Hospital Foundation; and they may be sent in care of the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home & Crematory, Herington Chapel, 404 S. Broadway, Herington, KS, 67449-3038.
