Ralph Mikel New, 59, of Hope, died Friday morning, July 25th, 2014, north of Herington, result of a motorcycle accident. He was born August 10, 1954, at Jackson, Tennessee, the son of Emmitt and Lottie M (Yarbrough) New.
A memorial service is being planned for Saturday afternoon, August 2nd, 2014. The Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Herington Chapel, is assisting the family with cremation plans.
Mr. New worked construction for many years. He also served in the U.S. Marines.
He is survived by his two (2) daughters: Felicia New & Katlynn New, a son Alex New, his father Emmitt New of Tennessee, and his mother Lottie Swaim of Abilene. He is also survived by five (5) sisters: Dorothy Delis of Wisconsin, Mary Anders of Colorado, Viola VonPertz of Dwight, KS, Millie Mollett of Oregon, & Nancy Rose of Oklahoma; and four (4) brothers: Emmitt Dewayne New of North Carolina, John New of White City, KS, Jerry New of Tennessee, & Charlie Swaim of Hutchinson, KS.
A memorial trust is being established with the First National Bank of Hope in Ralph New’s memory; and they may be sent in care of the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home & Crematory, Herington Chapel, 404 S. Broadway, Herington, KS, 67449-3038.
