Joseph P. Lancaster, Sr., 57, of White City, died at his home on June 29, 2014. He was born November 12, 1956, at Beech Grove, Indiana, the son of Francis and Gloria J (Bird) Lancaster. He retired from the U.S. Army as a Staff Sargent, and he also served in the Army Reserves. He received the Purple Heart for action in Iraq, in 2003.
A Military Committal service will be held at a later date at the Fort Riley’s Veterans Cemetery, Manhattan.
He married Paula L. Hartley on November 12, 1981, at Melbourne, Florida, she survives of the home. Survived by a daughter Nova Chamberlain (husband-Joshua) of Arnold, Maryland, a son Joseph Lancaster, Jr. (wife-Jessie) of Manhattan, grandson Albert Francis Lancaster, and a granddaughter Aryana Cherie Chamberlain. He is also survived by his brother Danny Lancaster of Melbourne, FL, and two (2) sisters: Virginia Louis of Melbourne, FL, and Penny Ridout of Baton Rouge, LA.
