Nancy C. Armstrong, 72, of Herington, died Saturday evening, June 21st, 2014, at the Salina Regional Health Center. She was born at home in Council Grove, Tuesday, June 2nd, 1942, the daughter of Melvin T and Ethel I (Belt) Davis.
Memorial Service was held at 11:00 am Saturday, June 28th, 2014, at the Faith Covenant Fellowship Church, 8 North Broadway, Herington, with Pastor Gary Schrader officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening, June 27th, from 7pm until 8pm, at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Herington Chapel.
Mrs. Armstrong retired from Foot Locker in Junction City, in 2012, as claims secretary after 23 years; and she worked for Tony’s Pizza in Salina for 11 years, prior to Foot Locker. She and her husband Jim were one of the founding couples of the Faith Covenant Fellowship Church. She was a past member of the Moose Lodge in Salina. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, gaming, camping, and her family. She attended Hope High School with the class of 1960.
Married James L. Armstrong, on May 29, 1959, in Hope; and he survives of the home. Survived by two (2) daughters: Pamela Hardison (husband-Kevin), and Paula Ball (husband-Jerry) both of Herington; four (4) sons: James “Bo” Armstrong, Jr. (Margaret Clark) and Mitch Armstrong both of Herington, Mark Armstrong (wife-Sherry) of Salina, and Jeff Armstrong (wife-Vickie) of Gypsum; a brother Jerry Davis of Herington; three(3) sisters: Cheryl Ogle of Herington, Judy Scott of Wakefield, and Cynthia Tribble of Las Vegas; 20 grandchildren; and 30 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by three (3) brothers (Larry Davis, Melvin Wayne Davis, Ronald Davis), a sister (Luann Pollock), a grandson (Jerry Ball, Jr.), and her parents.
